Cold Chemistry is made by Benchwork Studio LLC. This policy applies to Cold Chemistry on the App Store and TestFlight. Updated October 18, 2026.

Your recipes

Cold Chemistry creates a guest account so you can generate and save recipes without signing in with Apple. Recipe requests, generated recipes, saved edits, and processing records are stored on our service for that account. Your device also keeps a local copy of your recipe book and unfinished edits. Changes that have not synchronized remain on your device.

Connecting with Apple links your guest account to your Apple identity so you can recover synchronized recipes on another device. Without that connection, losing your device's account credentials can mean losing access to the guest account and its recipes.

Recipe links

When you create a recipe link, anyone with the link can view a fixed copy of the recipe and the batch you shared. Links are unlisted and are not included in a public recipe directory. Private notes and generation requests are not shared. Recipients can save independent copies. Deleting your account removes your links; copies already saved by others remain theirs.

Information we use

We use an account identifier supplied by Sign in with Apple, our own account and installation identifiers, and authorization credentials to protect your account. Apple handles your Apple Account password and authentication. We do not receive that password.

We retain recipe requests, ingredients, quantities, notes, generated results, and relevant processing records to provide recipes, recover interrupted work, and support your library. Purchase transaction records and recipe credit balances let us verify purchases and prevent duplicate charges. Apple processes payments; we do not receive your payment-card details.

Messages you send us

When you write to us from the app, we keep your message with your account, along with the app version and the recipe or request it is about, and email it to us. An email address is optional: if you give one, we use it only to reply to that message. Deleting your account deletes the messages we keep with it; to have the emailed copies deleted too, write to the address below.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts our API, recipe database, and generation processing. When you request recipe generation or refinement, the request and recipe information needed for that operation are sent to Anthropic and OpenAI APIs to interpret your request, design the recipe, and review it. Do not put sensitive personal information in recipe requests. We do not send Apple sign-in credentials or payment details to the model providers.

We use operational records, including request status, timings, usage, and costs, to keep the service reliable and limit abuse. Routine application logs exclude recipe text, private prompts, and authentication credentials. Network providers may process IP addresses and other connection information to deliver and secure the service. We do not sell your personal information, use advertising trackers, or use your recipes to target advertising.

Retention and deletion

Recipes and account history remain available while you keep your account. You can export your recipes and request account deletion in Settings. Deletion removes private recipe and authorization records after in-flight work and Apple's authorization revocation are resolved. Limited transaction, deletion, and accounting records are retained to reconcile purchases and prevent fraud. Recovery copies are restricted to operators. Cloudflare maintains a rolling recovery history for up to 30 days; separately encrypted recovery copies, when made, are retained for up to 30 days. Deletion records must be reapplied before a restored database is reopened.

Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple's subscription settings. Signing out does not delete your account or revoke Sign in with Apple.

If you use a TestFlight version, Apple provides us with crash reports, usage information, and feedback you choose to send, under Apple's TestFlight terms.
